Creative Art League's Community Theater Program

Beginning in the last quarter of 2014, the Creative Art League expanded its programming to include the performing arts.  Our first programs involved the creation of the Creative Art League's Old Time Radio Show and the mythical radio station KCAL.  We assembled a troupe of actors, selected scripts of old-time radio shows and turned the rear gallery of the Polvino Family Art Center into the recording studio (at least the pretend recording studio) of KCAL.  Our troupe recreated the old radio shows as they were originally broadcast in the 1940s.  Our first performance was "The Haunting Hour's" program "The Thought"--a creepy, scary tale in keeping with Halloween, the date on which it was first performed. Then followed Abbott and Costello and Fibber Paints a Christmas Tree White.  Complete with sound effects, music, and live audience participation, these radio show re-enactments were a huge hit.  So much so, that our Troupe performed the Fibber McGee program for Bridgepoint Senior Assisted Living Center and Thomson Hood Veterans' Center.  The next few months will bring a musical, a play and another old time radio show.  Like us on Facebook for an easy way to keep up with our performance schedule.
