I've been working in watercolor for many years and have focused on crystal and glass, and other shiny or reflective things. Recently I've been trying to paint urban landscapes and some actual landscapes. This has been a difficult transition and so I call it "retooling". I study not only other watercolor artists to be inspired to push my technique, but also oil, acrylic and pastel artists to continue to learn about good composition and value. I've been entering competitions for the last several years and have won a few awards, but plan to take a break from that for a while to give me the time I need to retool.
