Though lightly attended, the paint-in featured luscious Christmas still life set-ups by Jaqueline Schwartz. Making a decision on which one to paint was quite difficult, especially since I had arrived with a painting candidate in mind. Too enticing to ignore, I chose a beautiful poinsettia arrangement to depict in an impressionistic way.
Come enjoy company of others who enjoy art for a morning of painting. Bring your own supplies and paint independently using your preferred medium. You may paint a still life that will be depicting the feel of Christmas or holiday times. Additionally, Christmas cards will be available to help inspire your cr

Even fruits & veggies are gorgeous in rural Italy. There is something in the air in that part of the world that makes everyone an artist and everything a work of art. The colors are brilliant; the arrangements stunning. Come join us in May or September 2018 for a week in the Umbria region of Italy painting, sightseeing or just enjoying "la dolce vita"--the sweet life that is Italy. Rural Italy is a paradise for painters. The landscapes are breathtaking. The city scenes are unlike anything you can find here in the U.S. And, between painting (or instead of painting), you can enjoy the wonderful Italian food and the sweet life that is Italy. Join me in May or September 2018 for an Italian Painting Adventure. For more info, visit our Facebook page, Italian Painting Adventures, or our website at www.italianpaintingadventures.com. Ciao.

From the flowers of the Crocus sativus, commonly known as the saffron crocus, comes the spice "saffron". Each plant of this variety of crocus has approximately 4 flowers and each flower has 3 stigma. It is this stigma which is painstakingly picked from the blossoms and dried to become the saffron that gives Risotto Milanese its exquisite golden color and its rich taste. If you do not happen to have Crocus sativus growing in your garden, you can purchase dried saffron online. Beware, it is quite expensive and needs to be stored in a glass jar wrapped in aluminum foil in a dark cabinet
