On Friday, Arpil 14, 2017, Maura the Painting Dog demonstrated her training and technique at Downtown Dogs Spa in Nicholasville. This demonstration was one of the events of the Creative Art League's first 2017 Gallery Walk. Maura, a trained service, is a Labradour and was all business when she had her Service Dog vest on. She concentratedon her painting and on following commands. Everyone who saw her paint was impressed. The next Gallery Walk is Friday, June 9, 2017. The 2017 Gallery Walks are sponsored by the Nicholasville Tourism Commission.
Twenty-five students and 7 adults from Science Hill Elementary School made a field trip today to the Polvino Family Art Center. The group was there to view the entries in the Statewide Elementary & Middle School Art Competition. This Competition, in its second year, is a joint project of the Kentucky Art Educators Association and the Creative Art League. This year 24 schools from across the state sent entries. The closing reception, and the awards ceremony, will be Friday, April 28, 2017 from 5:30-7:00 pm at the Polvino Family Art Center, 109 S. Main in downtown Nicholasville.

The pyrography work of Michelle Zuck will be on display at the Old Jail, 200 South Main Street in Nicholasville, as one of the April 14 Gallery Walk venues. Zuck's work is created by applying controlled heat to wood or bone materials creating her design from the burn marks. This exhibit "Images from Bone and Wood" will be on display Friday, April 14, 2017 from 5:00- 8:00 pm. The 2017 Gallery Walks are sponsored by the Nicholasville Tourism Commission.
The first 2017 Gallery Walk is April 14, 2017 from 5-8 pm in downtown Nicholasville. One of our Gallery Walk exhibits will be "Henry, or the Hobo Code"--Paintings of Shawn C. Sewell. This exhibit of abstract work will be on display during the Gallery Walk at the Jessamine County Law Library, 109 N. Main in downtown Nicholasville.
The paintings of Lexington artist, Jack Cochran, will be on display during the April 14, 2017 Gallery Walk in downtown Nicholasville. Cochran's paintings, in the exhibit "Springtime in Kentucky", will be on exhibit at Gullette & Grayson, PSC at 125 S. Main Street in Nicholasville. Join us that evening and enjoy Cochran's work as well as the art on display in the four other exhibits conveniently located in the downtown area. One of those exhibits even features a painting dog. The 2017 Gallery Walks are sponsorec by the Nicholasville Tourism Commission.
