The Creative Art League will be doing face painting to celebrate the Jim Edd Shearer Memorial Caster Car Derby tomorrow, April 29, in downtown Wilmore. Come by and get your face painted and learn about the activities the Creative Art League has scheduled for this summer. See you there.
Join us tonight for the closing reception and awards ceremony for Freedom to Create II--the second annual statewide elementary and middle school art competition. This event is a joint project of the Kentucky Art Educators Association and the Creative Art League. Twenty-four school from all across the state have entries, including many of our own Jessamine County schools. Awards will be given for painting, drawing and mixed media. The reception is at the Polvino Family Art Center, 109 S. Main in downtown Nicholasville.
Enrollment is now being accepted for the summer session of the very popular JCAL (Junior Creative Art League) Sunday programs. Your young artist, ages 6-11, can enjoy weekly art instruction by Hope Soch and Staci Goggins, two of Jessamine County's certified art teachers. The young artists will explore different mediums and techniques and boost their creativity. The final Sunday will feature an exhibit of the work created during the summer to which family and friends are invited. Space is limited so early enrollment is encouraged.
